We Americans have a deep respect for our fellow citizens who have, will and continue to serve in our armed forces. This feeling is most evident when our men and women answer the call to duty during wartime. However, upon their return from the battle field, some are less fortunate than others and some have given their all for the freedoms we enjoy in our country. For those less fortunate, we are here to serve in a voluntary capacity in an effort to assist in some small way to help provide a better life for them and their families through a charitable cause.

For those that made the ultimate sacrifice, we hope to be able to aid their families through the difficult times they must face without the presence of their loved one.

“Birdies for the Brave” is the PGA TOUR’s primary vehicle for supporting the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with PGA TOUR players and corporate partners to raise millions of dollars for military home front groups that directly serve military men and women lost or seriously injured in performance of their duty, through fundraising events at TPC and Heritage Golf clubs nationwide.

Birdies for the Brave-Tampa Bay, a 501(c)(3) Foundation, hopes to reach our 3 Million dollars plateau this year for the eight charities supported by the PGA TOUR Charities Group, a 501(c)(3) Foundation … placing our venue in the top 3 of all participating clubs in the United States hosting a Birdies for the Brave event.

We continue to be very proud to announce that our administrative expenses were once again held to less than 5 percent this past year. We could not continue to do this without the dedication of our outstanding committee’s members, all of whom are Foundation Directors, a great volunteer staff, and all those people and organizations who donate time making each year very successful.

The economic situation of our country has had an impact on all charities but thanks to our wonderful sponsors we continue to support our troops. With your help we will have a brighter 2013 and have set a goal to increase our income by 10% .

Thanks to our Foundation Members and Volunteers for their efforts in making Birdies for the Brave Tampa Bay one of the most successful chapters in the country!
